Unisex Patola Silk Sari Overshirt

A one-of-a-kind layer made from upcycled vintage silk Patola saris, this unisex overshirt brings rich color, pattern, and textile history to an easy, relaxed silhouette. Each piece is thoughtfully handcrafted by our Saheli partners in Rajasthan, transforming existing saris into something entirely new.

Patola saris are celebrated for their intricate double-ikat weaving technique. Both the warp and weft threads are resist-dyed before weaving, allowing the pattern to emerge as the threads align on the loom. The process requires extraordinary mathematical precision, as even the slightest misalignment can distort the design.

Finished with a classic collar, button front, and roomy patch pockets, the overshirt can be worn open as a lightweight jacket or buttoned as a shirt. Variations in color, pattern, and texture are part of the beauty of the reclaimed fabric, making every piece completely unique.
