Made from muslin handloomed in Madhya Pradesh, India. The Kala Swaraj Foundation partnered with us on select pieces, providing organic cotton woven by artisans to produce the softest texture. We then worked alongside our partner family, the Saheli Women, to construct the garments in two sizes, with subtle v-neck and pleating detail. Whether lounging at home, paired with a block heel and jewelry in the evening, or poolside at the resort — you’ll want to be wearing the Easy Midi Caftan. Available in handloomed ikat and handloomed stripes. Our handloomed ikat is created by a weaving family in Telangana, and then handstitched by our partners, the Saheli Women. Handmade in India.

Not loving your Lekha? We gladly accept returns made within 14 days of delivery. Items need to be in their original condition, not worn, washed, or sale. Historic Materials
Muslin (Mulmul)
As a very fine cotton, muslin (called mulmul in India) used to be a prized import from India during British rule. Coming from handspun cotton, which is an artisan-focused industry in its own right, it is a thin, breathable, almost weightless fabric that gets softer with each machine wash and tumble dry. Our artisans weave the threads in a “plain weave” technique that is both incredibly soft, yet sturdy enough for long-lasting wear.

The Saheli Women
This women-owned, slow-fashion clothing atelier and social enterprise in rural India is one of our signature partners. The Saheli Women combat exploitative labor by providing fair wages and a safe working environment, while also empowering women by teaching income-generating skills so they can earn a livelihood and achieve economic independence. From dying fabrics, to garment construction, to embroidery and more, we’ve been working with these talented artisans for over 4 years and are incredibly proud to be a long-term international partner.
